Dolores Helen Steiner-Krull

June 22, 1929 — September 20, 2022

Dolores Helen Steiner-Krull, age 93, of Friendship Village Assisted Living, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2022. She was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on June 22, 1929, to Henry and Maybelle Weiss (nee Kramer).

Dolores was a gift to each and every person she came in contact with. It showed in how she raised her home and family. It showed in her strong Faith in God. It showed in her love and in her paintings. Always giving of herself, it was evident in everything she touched. Nothing was less than beautiful, as was she herself.

Dolores' life was an active one. Whether it was the Married Couples or the Walther League at St. Paul Lutheran Church, or her volunteer activities at the grade school of Grace Chapel Lutheran Church, where she worked in the school library or was involved in painting the backdrops for the school plays, being a Bluebird Troop Leader for Linda. She was active in all of Fred's sports. She had an inner drive that kept her going tirelessly in all that was hers. Her strength, tenacity and Faith. These are the attributes that got through cancer, of which she was a survivor. Dolores loved to read. There was rarely a book she read that she didn't like. Her peace and passion were her artwork. When she couldn't carry her easel up and down the stairs any longer, she kept going with her artwork by participating in classes and workshops at King of Kings Lutheran Church and Friendship Village, where she lived until she passed. Dolores' talents were truly a gift from God, and she used those talents to her fullest ability. Such beauty….Such creativity….Her paintings touched so many, and are still appreciated by all who see and have her paintings hanging in their homes. She was an avid traveler with her husband Fred. They were able to see and enjoy many different places together. When Linda and Fred were younger, the family spent vacations at the Silver Sands in Key Biscayne, Florida.

Dolores was classy from head to toe, and always carried herself with dignity. She was full of fun. Dolores loved life and her family and those dear to her. We will never forget all of the love and sacrifices Mom gave, the opportunities she created for us. We love you with all of our hearts and know that you continue to watch over us. Thank you, Momma, for everything, and now it is your turn to be at peace.

Dolores is survived by her children, Fred (Lynn) Steiner and Linda (Jim) Kroll; granddaughter, Erin, and great granddaughter, Arielle; her Goddaughter, Robin; two sisters, Laverne and Dorothy; sister-in-law, Shirley, and beloved nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she entered and hearts she touched.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Steiner of 48 years, granddaughter, Rachel Steiner, and her second husband, Tom Krull of three years.
