Donald Joseph Bastean, age 82, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on September 30, 1941 to Joseph and Frieda Bastean (nee Reuther).
The oldest of eight children, Donald was admired for his integrity, kindness, and dedication to family and friends. He was proud to serve his community for 50 years as a pharmacist. An avid baseball fan, he loved watching the Cardinals. Don was an innovative "Do it yourselfer" whose creativity sometimes worked out and sometimes did not. He was a humble, quiet man, and his generosity touched many lives.
Donald is survived by his spouse, Jeannine; three daughters, Karen Elizabeth Bastean, Melissa "Mimi" (Steve) Phillips, Cindy (Craig) Hembrock; four grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, Magdalene, Benjamin; three brothers, David (Marilyn), Ray (Linda), Richard; three sisters, Patricia (Robert) Schultz, Mary (Joe) Pisarkiewicz, Bernadette Brock; and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Frieda Bastean; brother, Brian; brother-in-law; Buddy Brock.
A visitation will be held on May 20, 2024 from 9:30am until 10:30am, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1 Seton Ct, St Charles, MO 63303. A funeral mass will immediately follow at 10:30am.
