Donald J. Ernst of St. Louis, Missouri passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital of St. Charles, Missouri on Thursday, October 5, 2023.
Donald was born July 27, 1933, to the late Bernie and Josephine Ernst.
Don and Catherine were married on June 30, 1956 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and shared 67 wonderful years together. They enjoyed taking bus tours and going to the Casino together. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Don is survived by his wife, Catherine; daughter, Diane (Chris) Pinz of St. Peters, MO; grandchildren, Christy and Troy, Katie and Josh, Leann and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Nolan, Landon, Lila, Lewis, and Jayden; brother, Dale Ernst; and nephew, Dennis Morrell.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernie and Josephine Ernst; sister, Marilyn (Leo) Morrell.
Visitation will be from 9:30 am until 11:30 am, Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at St. Peters Chapel. A Funeral Ceremony will be at 11:30 am Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri. Graveside service will immediately follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
