Donna McQuay

Donna K. McQuay, age 91, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024. She was born in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin on July 7, 1933 to John and Josephine Sydejko (nee Dulek). 

Donna had a profound passion for travel, particularly cherishing her annual trips to Arizona each winter and to Wisconsin, where she celebrated her birthday with family every year. These journeys were a testament to her love for family and the meaningful connections she nurtured throughout her life.

Donna enjoyed knitting and quilting, often creating beautiful pieces for her loved ones, sharing her talents and creativity generously. She also enjoyed ceramics, crafting delightful ducks, owls, and a variety of other items that brought joy to those around her.

In addition to her creative pursuits, Donna was an avid reader who found immense joy in the pages of countless books.

Throughout her life, Donna made a lasting impact on those she encountered, creating cherished memories and deep relationships. She also enjoyed the thrill of visiting the casino from time to time, embracing the joyful experiences life had to offer.

Donna will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her loving spirit and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of all who knew her.

Donna is survived by her husband, Richard P. McQuay; her daughter, Carolyn (Robert) Flottum; her sons, Jeff (Wendy) Hayes, Scott Hayes, and stepson Richard S. McQuay; her grandchildren, Leah (Adam) Chmelik, Tami (Dan) Horgan, Josie Hayes, Emma Hayes, Kristyn (Jason) Kersten, Chad (Addie) Hayes, and step-grandchildren Richard L. McQuay, Zach McQuay; and many great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Josephine Sydejko; her father, John Sydejko; her sister, MaryAnn (Ray) Olson; and her brothers, Eugene (Betty) Sydejko, and Donald (Elaine) Sydejko; 

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday October 5, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Fill Inn Station, 104 W Columbia St, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729
