Dorothea Bullar, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed from this world on January 24, 2025, in Jonesburg, Missouri, at the age of 86. Born on May 17, 1938, in St. Louis, Missouri, was a beacon of love and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on who knew her.
Dorothea was a devoted family woman. She is survived by her beloved children, Darrell (Gina) Bullar, Kim (Terry) Bullar, and Penny (Mark) Kassing, who treasured her unwavering support and the joy she brought into their lives. She was also a proud grandmother to her 14 grandchildren—Rachel, Jonah (Abi), Joel (Hannah), Abigail, Brittany (Johnnie), Heather, Ryan, Bryan (Jess), Matthew, Daniel, Samuel (Leslie), Brooke (Michael), Kristi (Justin), Keri (Anthony), Joshua, and Jeremiah Kassing. Each of them carries the warmth of her spirit within them, and her legacy will continue through her 23 great-grandchildren.
Dorothea's laughter often echoed in the hearts of her loved ones, especially during family gatherings filled with board and card games, which she loved to play. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life; she found solace in reading the Bible and attending church, where she gathered with her community and nurtured her spiritual journey. Travel was another passion of hers, as she loved exploring new places with her family, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
She was also supported by her siblings: Tony Minardi, Ralph "Butch" Minardi, Angie Minardi, and Barbara Allen, who remain heartbroken by her passing, but forever grateful for the moments they shared as a family.
Dorothea was preceded in death by her husband Ivan Bullar, whose love was a guiding force in her life, as well as her parents, Casey and Dorothy Allen. The loss of her grandchild, Jonathan Bullar, weighed heavily on her heart, as did the passing of her brothers, Ronald and David Minardi.
As family and friends gather to honor Dorothea's memory, they will reflect on the profound impact she had on their lives. Visitation will be held on February 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri, followed by a funeral service that will celebrate her remarkable life from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM.
