Dottie had many interests and enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, working out and reading. She was proud to earn her teaching degree later in life and taught kindergarten.
Special thanks to her caregivers Rich and Judy Kaemmerer. She will be buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in private services. A memorial mass to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
After graduation from high school Dorothy went to work for a canvas production company as a switchboard operator and secretary, where her to be husband worked also after his time in the Army Air Force as an accountant and bookkeeper. Dottie and John married April 21, 1948 at Blessed Sacrament Church. They then moved to Indiana as John attended Notre Dame as he earned his chemical engineering degree. Their next location was So. Charleston, WV as John worked and retired from Union Carbide. While in WV Dottie decided to go to college at University of Charleston and graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English. She had a GPA of 3.4 and was 48 years old, she may have felt like a mom to many of her fellow students. She then taught kindergarten at St. Joseph in So. Charleston, which she often mentioned she enjoyed her time with the students. She did this till 1985 when her and John retired and moved to Aiken, SC, where they enjoyed their time traveling and playing golf. John passed away August 23, 2014.
Although she lived out of state for so many years she stayed connected to her family in St. Louis who she loved so much and helped them when she could.
She was a most cordial, gracious and loving woman to all who knew her. She is loved and will be sorely missed.
