Dorothy "Dot" Rose Otte, aged 92, entered into eternal rest on Monday July 17, 2023.
She was the loving wife of Robert Lee Otte; wonderful mother of Debra (Rick) Maclvor, Robert (Diane) Otte, and Sue (Mike) Mullen; dear grandmother of Rebecca (John) Burns, Kelly Mullen, Ellen (Mike) Royal, Robert (Stephanie) Otte, Vince (Jessica) Mullen and Ricky (Jennifer) MacIvor; cherished great-grandmother of Lucas, Ayden, Owen, Blake, Renee, Claire, Mike, Liam, Harper, Rose, Wesley, Willow, Gavin, and Sky; Beloved sister of 7 siblings; dear daughter of the late John and Sarah Bohnert.
Dot and Bob were grade school sweethearts. They spent their first years as newlyweds in the Air Force stationed in San Antonio, TX. A favorite family memory (among many) was the fact that Dot surprised Bob one day when he came home from work. She had taught herself to drive their "stick shift" automobile. Later when their children were older, Dot became a school bus driver. She drove school buses for 27 years. Family and friends can tell you what a close and loving relationship her and Bob have shared for 71 years. When their children were young they traveled the states in their camper visiting civil war battlefields. Bob and Dot have a long list of things they enjoyed doing together. Besides traveling they liked to square dance, ride bicycles on the Katy Trail, play countless games of Rummikube, and mall walk. Dot helped Bob make many beautiful quilts. They enjoyed many hours together reading their books.
Do was also very busy throughout her life with her many girlfriends. Every Wednesday for years she played cards with the girls- the retired bus drivers. They traveled together and had monthly get togethers at "Fast Eddies."
She will be missed by all lucky enough to have called her mom, grandma, great-grandma, mother-in-law, girlfriend, neighbor, and friend.
Memorial donations may be made in Dot's honor to the Breast Cancer Society.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 9:00am until 10:00am at All Saint Catholic Church located at 7 McMenamy Rd, St Peters, MO 63376. A memorial mass will take place immediately following at 10:00am also at All Saints Catholic Church.
