Dotta Lou Hill, age 90, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024 in Union, Missouri. She was born in Sikeston, Missouri on April 11, 1934 to Leslie and Margaret Bishop (nee Matthews).
Dotta (Dottie)Lou Hill was a dynamic force of life and anyone who knew her would agree with that statement without hesitation. If you wanted to get something done that no one else could get done, or someone said could not be done just ask Dottie and the odds were very great that she would find a way to get it done.
Dottie and her husband of Bill of 53 years had an active and dynamic life. They ran several businesses together, she also had over 25 year career with Walmart which included managing both Jewelry Departments and Fabric Departments. After retirement they enjoyed time with their family and were active for many years at Oakridge Baptist Church.
After Dottie’s husband Bill passed in 2006 she continued to keep herself active with her craft skills decorating every theme holiday for St Williams II Senior Living in Darden Prairie where she was a resident for 10 years.
Dottie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She knew the Lord and has gone on to her reward. She will be missed by many but never forgotten and will live on in our memories and hearts until we see her in heaven.
Dotta is survived by her sons, Michael S. (Jennifer) Hill, and Robert W. (Diana) Hill; her daughter, Enola G. (Dennis) Phillips; her grandchildren, Justin (Jennifer) Turnbaugh, Kensey (Adam) Szabo, Emmie (Bobby) Pinkley, Devon (Morgan) Turnbaugh, William M. Hill IV, Haley (Brandon) Austill, Maggie (Chad) Crabb, Jacob Hill, Henry Hill, Chad Phillips, and Alex (Kimberley) Phillips; her great-grandchildren, Gwedolyn Turnbough, Evelyn Turnbough, Emery Szabo, Crew Szabo, Grace Hill, Kingston Williams, Maggie Pinkley, Wynter Pinkley, Tessa Turnbaugh, Taylor Turnbaugh, August Turnbaugh, Maxine Turnbaugh, Gavin Hill, Luke (Grace) Dempsey, Alana Young, Liam Blaise, Myra Austill, Campbell Crabb, Jackson Crabb, Hannah Hill, Colton Hill, Kyndall Fox, and Logan Phillips; her great-great grandchildren, Nolan Dempsey, and Beckham Dempsey; her brother, Leslie V. Bishop; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Hill Jr.; her father, Leslie Miller Bishop; her mother, Margaret Marie Bishop; her son, William M. Hill III; and her great-grandchild, Trip Pinkley.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm, all on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. Burial will take place on Monday, June 17, 2024 at 10:00 am at Oak Grove Cemetery in Saint Charles Missouri. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 9:15 am on Monday to process to the cemetery.
