Douglas J. Meyers, age 53, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022 in Burlingame, California. He was born in St. Louis, Mo. on December 10, 1968.
Doug is survived by his loving parents, Donna and Danny Meyers, sister, Debbie (Mike) Koeller, brother, Paul (Hannah) Meyers, nieces, Elizabeth and Emily Koeller, aunts, Rosemary Main and Susan House, cousins, Patrick House, Randy (Julie) Young, Jeannie (Dave) Bassett, Jeremy Williams and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his dear grandparents, Regina (Gigi) and Bill Frintrup as well as Earl and Hazel Meyers.
Doug grew up in Dellwood, Mo. He enjoyed living close to his cousins and favorite Aunt. The cousins spent lots of time together riding bikes, roller skating, swimming and other activities at Dellwood Rec Center. Doug also enjoyed motorcycles and music.
Doug was raised in the Catholic faith and attended St. Sebastian Grade School where he was involved in sports and Scouting. He had many classmates and friends who also lived in the neighborhood. Everyone would meet at 'the circle' in front of our house to play. Doug, with his two siblings and friends would spend countless summer evenings playing games like Freeze tag and Kickball until the street light came on and we all had to go home. Doug loved the time around Halloween with homemade haunted houses and preparing costumes. This tightknit community was a warm, friendly place to grow up and it was a happy time for Doug. He attended Rosary High School where he met more friends, was on the Honor Roll, ran track and played soccer.
In 2000, Doug moved to Destin, FL. From there, his journey led him to many other warm southern states before his death in California.
We always had a hole in our heart for as long as Doug was away. We have loved him very much. Without him, a part of us is missing.
