Dr. I. James Giganti

Dr. Ignatius James Giganti, age 92, of Chesterfield, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in Saint Louis, Missouri. He was born in Springfield, IL on March 31, 1932, to Calogero and Rose Giganti (nee Randazzo).

Dr. Giganti was a dentist for 59 years. He was married to Hilda Giganti for 68 years.

Jim was an avid car and railcar enthusiast, as well as a collector of knives and guns. Most of all, he loved candy, cookies and anything bakery related. Oh, yes, Jim also loved having his family around!!

He is survived by his wife, Hilda Giganti; three daughters, Rose Brao, Maria (Damian) Gerard, Pietra (Jeffrey Pedrotty) Giganti; two sons, Carl (Phrae) Giganti, Alfonso Giganti; brother, Antonino (JoAnn) Giganti; sister-in-law, Toby Giganti; 17 Grandchildren, and 7 Great-Grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Calogero Giganti; mother, Rose Giganti; two brothers, Paul (Toby) Giganti, Nicholas Giganti; sister, Pietrina Giganti; daughter-in-law, Elle Davis.

A visitation will be held on July 11, 2024, from 9:00am until 11:00am, at West County Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 2211 Clarkson Rd, Chesterfield, Missouri 63017. A service will be held immediately following the visitation at 11:00am at the West County Chapel. Inurnment will be taking place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on July 11, 2024, at 1:30pm.
