Dr. Michael J. Kemp, Ph.D., age 68, of O’Fallon, Missouri passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024. Following Heart and Kidney Failure at Silverstone Place Nursing and Rehab. in Rolla, Missouri. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on October 30, 1955, to Harry and Louise Kemp (nee Boyle).
Michael retired from ITT Technical Institute after a long-term disability. And was also a long-time Municipal Police Chief in St Louis and St. Charles County. Michael served the Missouri Federation of Police Chiefs tirelessly over the years. This includes a two-term president, a fifteen-term treasurer, a five-term training director, and a licensed state lobbyist who served for five terms. Michael taught at the Eastern Missouri Police Academy for many years. Michael earned his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Management at National Lewis University and a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice Administration / Biopsychology at Capella University.
Michael is survived by; his Brother Donald W. Kemp of Owensville, MO. Three nephews; David and Brian of O’Fallon, MO., and Steven (Kayln) of Owensville, MO. Great- Nieces and Nephews, A special niece; Kimberly (Jon) Clark of Hillsboro, MO. A long-time Best friend Phyllis Ann Koelling-Rehklau of Cuba, MO. And many other good friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his Father, Harry J. Kemp; Mother, Louise C. Kemp.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Newcomer Funeral Home St. Peters Chapel, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. A funeral Mass will take place Monday, April 29, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1355 Motherhead Rd. Cottleville, MO. 63304. Visitation at church one hour before mass.
