Earl William Drennen

Earl William Drennen, age 81, of O'Fallon, Missouri, fortified with the Sacrament of Holy Mother Church, Wednesday, July 19, 2017 in St. Charles, Missouri. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on June 29, 1936 to Claude and Agnes Drennen (nee Warmack). After graduating from high school in 1954, he enlisted in United States Air Force and was responsible for working on the radios, radar and navigation of the aircraft, and was honorably discharged with a rank Staff Sargeant. After leaving the Air force, he began working at McDonnell Douglas working on various projects, including The Gemini and the Mercury Spacecraft Program, and ending his career as a Quality Systems Auditor for Boeing. He retired in January 2001 after 43 years. He was also a Lt. Governor for Toastmasters International.

He served the City of O'Fallon for many years, serving three consecutive terms on the board of aldermen from 1969 to 1975. He then began a long-time career as municipal judge in 1975 where he was elected as the city's first police court judge. In 1978 he was appointed to a commission created by the Missouri Supreme Court to train and test non-attorney judges. He served as past President of the Missouri Municipal and Associate Circuit Court Judges from 1983-1984. He hung up his robe after 36 years on the job. He has received many awards from the city including a key to the city and a proclamation expounding on his years of service dating back to when O'Fallon was just a small town community. Earl was also a member Assumption Catholic Church in O'Fallon.

Earl is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rebecca M. Drennen (nee Mihlfeld) of O'Fallon, MO,: his children and their spouses, Kevin P. (Barbara) Drennen of St. Charles, MO, Madonna L. (Chris) Pund of New Florence, MO, Stephen M. Drennen of St. Charles, MO, Mark A. (Stephanie Bollinger-Drennen) Drennen of O'Fallon, MO, and Michelle D. Drennen-Jackson of O'Fallon, MO; a sister, Juanita (Henry) Skurat of St. Louis; two brothers, Harold (late Helen) Drennen of Wichita, Kansas and Kenneth (Rose) Drennen of Beverly Hills, Florida; grandchildren: Majesta Drennen, Steven (Reece) Drennen, Lynn Drennen, Daniel Drennen, Amanda (Will) McDowell, Rebecca (Mike) Maher, Jonathan (Anna)Pund, Morgan Wehmer, Serenity Jackson and Randy Jackson, III; great-grandchildren, Adrienne Klueter and Isaac McDowell; and other numerous family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Eugene Drennen, Ronald Drennen and James Martin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Monday, July 24, 2017 at Assumption Catholic Church, 403 North Main Street, O'Fallon Missouri 63366.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 23, 2017, from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376, and Monday from 9:30 am until the time of Mass at Assumption Catholic Church.

Interment, with Military Honors, will be in St. Charles Memorial Gardens, St. Charles, Missouri.
