Edward Joseph Becker, 88, of Saint Peters, MO passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024. He was born to the late Edward and Anna Becker on September 6th, 1935 in Altoona, PA.
Ed is survived by his wife Joanne of St. Peters MO, his 5 children: Sandy (Dave) Snawder of Dardenne Prairie, Dan Becker of Piedmont, OK, Tim (Jenny) Becker of Millersville, MO, Susan Becker of St. Peters, MO, and Kathleen (Keith) Lewis of O’Fallon, MO.
Ed is survived by his grandchildren: Jennifer (Ryan) Anderson, Nick (Sydney) Snawder, Kerrick Lewis, & Ketcher Lewis. He has one great grandchild, Everett Anderson.
Ed is survived by his siblings: Lorraine Wilson of Altoona, PA, Mary Lou Lightener of Duncanville, William (Ruth Ann) Becker of Altoona, PA, and Ken (Sally) Becker of Duncansville, PA. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Geraldine Sipe, Donna Lee Echard, Phyllis Miller, Bernard Becker, & Delores Becker
Edward married Joanne Schwarz in 1964 and they began raising their family in Spanish Lake, MO before relocating to Saint Peters in 1995. Ed & Joanne were married for 60 years.
Ed was a technical writer for McDonnell Douglas/Boeing for 41 years. He enjoyed working on the ejection seats for the F4 Phantom and the F15 Eagle. Ed was an avid hunter, including bow hunting for deer, and also hunting small game & waterfowl.
In his spare time, Ed enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, fishing, woodworking, bike riding, & exercising.
He was an active member at Assumption Parish in O’Fallon, MO for decades.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 22nd at 9:30 a.m. at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in O’Fallon, MO, followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., also at Assumption. A luncheon to follow mass in the lower level of church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
