Eilene Nielsen

Eilene Nielsen, age 92, of O'Fallon, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 in O'Fallon, Missouri. She was born in Guthrie, Oklahoma on August 10, 1927 to Otto and Edna Hammermeister (nee Hoffman).

Eilene was married to Theodore Nielsen for 43 years until his passing in 1991. She was an excellent seamstress, and fond of quilting, counted cross-stitch, and many other types of crafts. Eilene was an avid reader. She also enjoyed volunteering at St. Joseph Hospital West, First Baptist Church of O'Fallon, and others. Eilene was always very strong in her faith and loved her family.

Eilene is survived by her children, Deborah Nielsen, Michael (Karen) Nielsen, and DeAnn (Bill) Schulz; her grandchildren, Shelby Schulz, Jennifer (Brad) Pierce, Shelly (Juston) Parton, and Brad Nielsen; her great-grandchildren, James Pierce, Elizabeth Pierce, Philip Pierce, David Pierce, Naomi Pierce, Anna Pierce, Lexie Parton, Dustin Parton, Abbey Nielsen, Ariana Nielsen, and Jesse Nielsen; and her sister, Amelia Adcock. She will be missed by many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Nielsen; her father, Otto Hammermeister; and her mother, Edna (Hoffman) Hammermeister.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Monday, July 6, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376 (636-875-1200). A funeral service will take place at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Newcomer Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Valhalla Cemetery, 7600 St Charles Rock Rd, St. Louis, MO 63133.

Guests are encouraged to wear face masks and social distance during the visitation and service.
