Elaine Louise Mercurio, age 85, passed away on July 28, 2023, in her home, after a battle with lung cancer.

Elaine is survived by her loving husband Sam, her children Barbara (Robert), James, Vincent and Nancy, and her grandchildren Joshua, Nicholas, Vito, Xavier, Benjamin, Ella, and Joseph, and her great-granddaughter Maebry.

Elaine was born on September 4, 1937 in Deering, ND, to parents Louise and Lawrence.

Elaine was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She married Sam in 1959 and the couple had 5 children together, including Constance, who passed away in early November 2022.

Elaine was a very caring Christian who was deeply involved in the church. She enjoyed reading, and crocheting, and watching movies. Her family and friends will always remember her as a reliable, caring, and humble person. She always put others before herself, showing the truly great mother and wife that she was.

A visitation and funeral is scheduled for Elaine on August 3, at Assumption Church at 9:30 am and mass at 10:30 am. The procession will then go to Jefferson Barracks for final prayers and blessings. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Elaine's life at Assumption Church. Flowers can be sent to Newcomer Funeral Home at 837 Mid Rivers Mall Dr., St. Peter's, MO 63376.
