Elizabeth Joan Scott, age 83, of Wentzville, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 in Saint Peters, Missouri. She was born in Knob Lick, Missouri on January 18, 1940 to Frank and Mabel Sales (nee Lietz).
Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was known as Betty by family and friends. Betty's joy came from her faith and her family. She taught children in Sunday School for many years. Betty often invited friends into her home for food, fellowship, and fun. Her favorite family activities were hosting holiday gatherings, vacation road trips, and sharing the latest stories about her grandchildren. In her later years one of her oft-repeated phrases was "We need to get the whole family together soon," which became more difficult as her family grew and spread out. Everyone will dearly miss her kind smile and gentle, quiet spirit.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Alvin Ray Scott; her sons, Mark David (Jan) Scott, Terry Michael (Amy) Scott, and Kevin Ray (Deborah) Scott; her grandchildren, Alyssa Lauren Dyke, Anna Elizabeth Maasen, Kayla Christine Scott, Erin Elisabeth Scott, Jesse Michael Scott, Adam David Scott, Courtney Michelle Lindsey, Lauren Elizabeth Scott, Micah James Scott, and Ella Joy Scott; her great-grandchildren, Reece Bennett Maasen, Jude Lincoln Maasen, Tate Landon Maasen, Selah Grace Dyke, Asher Everett Dyke, Hudson David Dyke, Elise Rose Lindsey, and Theodore Archer Lindsey; her sister, Karen Sue Banish; and her brother, David Lee (Connie) Sales. She will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Ethan Ray Scott; her father, John Franklin Sales; her mother, Belva Mabel Sales; and her brother-in-law, Paul Banish.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 pm, both on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, St. Peters Chapel, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376.
