Emily Ann Larash, age 25, of Ellisville, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 22, 1997 to Richard and Patricia Larash (nee Silverstone).
Emily is survived by her parents, Rick and Patty Larash; brother, David Larash; sisters, Kerstyn Buehrig and Sarah (Jared Wertin) Larash; and grandmothers, Shirley Silverstone and Janet Larash. Also survived by her brothers in spirit, Gabriel Buehrig and Stephen Bondurant, and many others that loved her.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Richard Larash, Sr.
Emily (known as Emmy, Emma, Em, Mama's little birdie, and a plethora of other loving nicknames by many) was a bright and shining soul in this world. Her eyes twinkled, reflecting the incandescent beauty of her heart & soul, and her smile could light up anyone's darkest day. She cared for strangers and loved ones alike with an intensity sprouting from familiarity with immense pain and the desire to shield all others from it. She worked many customer service jobs where this ability to nurture made her a favorite among regulars. She didn't simply perform her jobs well, she changed people's days and, who knows, maybe their lives. She loved to spend her days inside in her big comfy bed, cuddling her dog Charlie and writing poetry, journaling, meditating, and watching old or funny movies. Most all of her friends and family have spent hours with her enjoying the comfort and security of that space. Vivacious and always looking for fun, she also enjoyed driving around listening to music, shopping (at Target mainly), and going out on the town with her friends. She was a very spiritual person with a heart for the downtrodden. She advocated for and supported others at every opportunity, both online (in support groups for chronic pain, addiction, and mental illness among others) and in person.
She was tiny but mighty - a force with the softest essence. She had an incredibly strong drive to reach her many goals, and her remarkable perseverance through roadblocks and tragedy was a hallmark of her life many have looked up to her for. Robbed of the time to fulfill many remaining dreams, there are countless questions as to what her future might have held, but one thing is certain: Whatever she would have done, wherever she would have done it, she would have continued to change people's lives for the better. Those who felt her love have known a truly precious gift. The world, and most truly our world, will never be as bright again. Words fail to do her justice. The hole her absence leaves can never be filled, but we will follow in her example and find hope and light dispelling darkness.
A celebration of Emily's life will be held at a later date. Please check back for updated service information.
