On Friday, May 10, 2024, Eric V. Barnhart, a loving son and dedicated lawyer, passed away at the age of 52.
Eric was born on August 31, 1971, in St. Louis, Missouri to Verne and Betty (Kampler) Barnhart. He received his law degree from Saint Louis University in 1999. With a career spanning over two decades, Eric dedicated his life to defending the rights of the accused and ensuring that every individual received fair representation under the law. As a respected member of the legal community, he approached each case with unparalleled diligence, earning the admiration and respect of colleagues and adversaries alike.
Eric's legacy transcends his professional accomplishments; he leaves behind a profound impact on the lives of those he touched. Whether fighting for justice in the courtroom or offering a reassuring presence to those in need, Eric embodied the principles of fairness, compassion, and unwavering dedication. He had a profound love for baseball and cherished every moment spent watching his beloved St. Louis Cardinals. He was deeply passionate about fitness and approached every workout with enthusiasm and dedication. Eric cherished his family and beloved dog, Ambrose, with all this heart.
Eric was preceded in death by his father, Verne Barnhart, and brother, Kevin (Amy) Barnhart. He is survived by his beloved mother, Betty Bernhart. Eric was a beloved nephew to Sally (Donnie) Rulo, Penny (Joey) Torry, Richard (Shirley) Barnhart, Nancy (Marco) Vainiko. He was a dear cousin and friend to many. Though he may have departed from this world, his spirit will continue to inspire and guide all who were fortunate enough to know him. Eric will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and the countless individuals whose lives he touched with his remarkable compassion and advocacy.
Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions – West County Chapel at 2211 Clarkson Road, Chesterfield, MO 63017. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 4pm – 8pm. The funeral will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 11am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery & Mausoleum at 5239 West Florissant Ave, St. Louis, MO 63115. Friends and family are respectfully invited to repast after the burial services.
