Eva Phillips, affectionately known as "Nan" to her loved ones, passed away on July 13, 2024, in St. Peters, Missouri, surrounded by her family. Her gentle spirit and unwavering love enriched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was born on April 3, 1937, in Iberia, Missouri to Willie Marten Irwin and Sylvia Howser Irwin, and her legacy of kindness, creativity, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of calling her family or friend.
Nan's warm smile and open heart welcomed all who entered her home, where she shared cherished moments full of laughter and love with her grandchildren. Her generous nature and willingness to help others defined her character, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was pursuing her passions as a skilled upholsterer and a self-taught musician, rummaging through resale stores, hunting for Indian artifacts, cooking up her country fried meals, or engaging in creative playtime with her beloved grandchildren. Nan's remarkable ability to captivate others with her storytelling and her love for family will be a treasured memory for years to come.
Guided by her strong and unwavering belief in the Lord, Nan's life was a testament of love, loyalty, faith, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family. She was an attendee of Bethel United Pentecostal Church in St. Peters, Missouri, where she found a sense of purpose and community.
Nan's most cherished accomplishment was her nurturing and growing family. She is survived by her six children, Teresa Werchow (nee Phillips), Kim Phillips, Robin Wallace (nee Phillips), Todd (Lynn) Phillips, Dawn (Richard) Reeder (nee Phillips), Kenda Curativo (nee Phillips); 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 2 great, great-grandchildren. The impact she made on each of their lives is immeasurable, and her love will continue to resonate through the generations.
Though Nan may no longer be with us, her memory lives on through the countless stories and shared moments that continue to ignite laughter and bring comfort to those who were blessed to have known her. Eva Phillips, our dear Nan, will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
