Frances Kutzner, age 100, of Saint Charles, Missouri passed away on Monday, July 29, 2019 in Saint Charles, Missouri. She was born in Montezuma, Iowa on March 6, 1919 to Cecil and Alyn Griffin (nee Thorn).
Frances married Lawrence "Vane" Kutzner on June 2, 1945 in her parents' home. She worked from home doing bookkeeping for her husband's business in Ft. Madison, Iowa. Frances was an active member in many organizations such as: P.E.O., King's Daughters, and Santa Fe United Methodist Church. In April of 1994, she moved to the St. Charles area to be closer to her daughter. She became an active member at Church of the Shepherd, P.E.O. and Red Hats. She also volunteered at Barnes Jewish St. Peters Hospital in the recovery room. She enjoyed traveling with her church and family.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Nancy (David) Livingston; sister, Dorothy Haworth; grandson, Michael Livingston; and granddaughter, Christina Lehrmann. She will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence "Vane" Kutzner; mother, Alyn Griffin; father, Cecil Griffin; brother, Richard (Rae Ellen) Griffin; three sisters, Mary (Dean) Best, Grace (George) Strah, Anne (Art) Steele; and brother-in-law, Jack Haworth.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, St. Peters Chapel, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376 (636-875-1200) with Carol Meyer officiating. A funeral ceremony will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Church of the Shepherd, 1601 Woodstone Dr, St Charles, MO 63304. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Oakland Cemetery, 4025 Avenue O, Fort Madison, IA 52627.
