Gary Alan Ilseman

Gary Alan Ilseman, age 73, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021. He was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on February 8, 1948, to Ralph and Dorothy Ilseman (nee Doyle).
Gary is survived by his wife, Linda Ilseman; his children, Tracie (Jamie) Crow, Jeff (Sharon) Ilseman and Kimberly (Kyle) Gilbertson; his grandchildren, Logan Crow, Ashley Harness, Madison Ilseman, Courtney Crow, William Harness, Tyler Crow, Brandon Gilbertson, Noah Garrett Gilbertson and Charlotte Gilbertson. He will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends.
Gary and Linda were married on June 12, 1970, at Hope Lutheran Church, St. Ann, Missouri. His four years in the United States Air Force took them to Panama City, Panama and Panama City, Florida. After settling back in the St. Louis area, where they raised their three children, Gary worked for the St. Louis County Department of Highways and Traffic for over 25 years. Gary retired in 2013 to spend more time with his family and especially his grandchildren. Gary enjoyed writing, music and loved spending time outdoors fishing. He was constantly bringing joy and generating laughs through his many jokes and pranks. He was always the number one fan in the stands for his children's and grandchildren's sports and activities. He loved to spend quiet afternoons watching golf, college sports or cheering on his St. Louis Cardinals. Gary's heart was as big as his smile. He will be missed by many.
The family is requesting that everyone come wearing casual attire, as Gary would have wanted it. Please come wearing your favorite sports attire or just casual.
Visitation will be from 4:30 pm until 7:00 pm on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, West County Chapel, 2211 Clarkson Rd, Chesterfield, Missouri 63017. A funeral service will take place at 12:00 pm on Monday, October 25, 2021, at Newcomer West County Chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
