Gary Murvai

Gary Murvai, age 62, of O Fallon, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. He was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on November 15, 1961 to James and Elnora Murvai (nee Wolkey).

Gary was a family man and loved them above anything else. He married the love of his life, Mary, in 1985. Gary cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and would do anything for them. He was able to make anyone feel comfortable and at home. Gary's sense of humor was infectious and everyone who encountered him absorbed his energy. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and sports, especially his Buffalo Bills. Gary loved to cook and to eat. He would always say, "I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't cheat on my wife, I love to eat." He will be deeply missed and greatly remembered by all he left an impression on.

Gary is survived by his wife, Mary Murvai; his sons, Robert (Terra) Lucas Jr., Kevin (Sabrina) Lucas, and Gary Murvai, II; his daughter, Stephani (Josh) Barrett; his grandchildren, Madison (Luke) Mitchell, Jake Grumich, Robert Lucas III, Olivia Grumich, Kylie Lucas, Blake Lucas, Lilly Smith, and Brittney Lucas; his great-grandchildren, Maverick Mitchell, and Leighton Mitchell; his four sisters; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Murvai; his mother, Elnora Murvai; and a brother.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm all on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376.
