Gary Stege

Gary Stege, age 75, of Wentzville, Missouri passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022. He was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on Wednesday, November 6, 1946 to Charles Stege and Charline Garrett (nee Mullins).


Gary was an avid sports fan, especially watching football, horse racing, and following the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a member of the South St. Louis Corkball League. He loved animals, especially his dog Macy. He enjoyed feeding the birds, riding around on his golf cart, playing bingo, and drinking Busch beer. He retired in 2008 from General Motors Wentzville after 30 years of service, and was a proud member of UAW Local 2250.


Gary is survived by his Wife of 37 years, Judith Stege; one Brother, Brett Stege; one Sister in Law, Linda Stege; Children, Deanna (Matt) Lacefield and David (Amy) Stege; Step-Children, Tammy (Areland) Slayden and Jeffrey (Carolyn) Yates; Six Grandsons, Ryan Lacefield, Drayden Lacefield, Austin Stege, Sean Slayden, Justin Yates, Jay Algiere; Four Granddaughters, Payton Stege, Jessica Schilling, Summer Kohring, Jaelee Yates; Five Great-Grandsons, Wyatt Schilling, Xander Yates, Calvin Slayden, Nolan Slayden and Grayson Kohring; Two Great-Granddaughters, Briley Kohring and Regan Kohring. Gary will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends.


He was preceded in death by his Parents, Charles Stege and Charline Mullins, and one brother, Chuck Stege.
