Gary Robert Stroot, age 79 Years, 10 Months, 28 Days, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023 in Creve Coeur, Missouri. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 27, 1943 to Robert and Marjorie Stroot (nee Cornish).
Gary was a Mailer at the Post-Dispatch. He was married to Jessie Stroot for 40 years.
Gary was an avid sports fan. He loved baseball, bowling and spending time with family and friends.
Gary is survived by his Two Daughters, Angela Farley of Platteville, CO, Stephanie Douglas of Scottsdale, AZ; Four grandchildren, Megan (Dillon) Lauritzen, Dustin Farley, Hunter Douglas, Maya Douglas; Two Sisters, Marilyn (Gerald) Terbrock, Pam Stroot; Two Brothers, Terry (Lynn) Stroot, Randy (Liz) Stroot; and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Wife, Jessie Stroot; Father, Robert Stroot; Mother, Marjorie Stroot.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 25th, 2023 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376.
Graveside Services will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery on Friday, May 26th at 10:00 am. Family to meet at the Newcomer St. Peters Chapel at 9:15 am to leave in procession to Sacred Heart Cemetery.
There will be a Celebration of Life from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Friday, May 26th at Woodson Terrace Town Hall - 9351 Guthrie Ave, St. Louis, MO 63134. Friends and family are encouraged to wear their favorite baseball attire in Gary's honor.
