Gary L. Woerther

Gary L. Woerther, age 73, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at his residence. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on February 12, 1945 to Roy and Marilyn Woerther (nee Albertson).

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 53 years: Carol (Schilligo) Woerther of Saint Peters, MO, son: Michael (Sharlene "Dody") Woerther, son: Jim (Kristie) Woerther, son: Robert (Rachael) Woerther, eight grandchildren: Zack Woerther, Tess Woerther, Jake Woerther, Nathan Woerther, Alex Nuelle, Zach Nuelle, Noah Woerther, Maleya Woerther, one brother: Mike Woerther, one sister: Jane Puszkar, eight brothers and sisters in-law: Marie Winter, Sue Yates, Jim Schilligo, Joe Schilligo, Jack Schilligo, Jerry Schilligo, Linda Harmon and Laura Zoellner.

He was preceded in death by his daughter in-law: Teri Woerther (nee Schipper), his father: Roy Woerther, his mother: Marilyn Woerther, one brother: Daniel Woerther and his father and mother in-law: Carl and Marie Schilligo.

Gary was a member at All Saints Catholic Church. He was the owner/operator of Independent Steel for over 30 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent De Paul Society and the NRA. He loved to go hunting and fishing at his place in the country. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Gary was a recreational pilot for over 30 years. He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at All Saints Catholic Church, 5 McMenamy, St. Peters, MO. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday, August 6, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations Funerals and Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to Homers for Health, Masses, or All Saints School.
