George Clifton Auerswald, age 68, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023 in Saint Peters, Missouri. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 8, 1955 to George and Lena Auerswald (nee Bowles).
George was born and raised in St. Louis, MO and graduated from Mehlville High School. He went on to marry Kathryn Auerswald in February of 1982, spending 41 wonderful years together and bringing into the world their two wonderful sons. George was an Over the Road Trucker and retired from Prinkpuck Inc., after a committed successful career.
George loved to work in his garage on his multiple projects. He took pride in keeping his yard in pristine condition, making sure to always keeping his many flowers and vegetables he had in his garden just as lively and beautiful. George could usually be found sitting on his porch on neighborhood watch, keeping his community safe. He often described his observations as a "wild kingdom at night, running with owls, foxes, and an occasional skunk". He not only kept his neighborhood safe, but the community happy. George was always offering to help with upkeep of their lawns in the Summer, and ready to plow the snow in the Winter months, often times without being asked. He always had a helpful heart and attitude.
George will be remembered as a loving and faithful husband, an inspirational father, and having a soft spot for his grandchildren. He was a friend and a helper to all. George will be missed and his light and legacy will be remembered through the fond memories his family and friends will continue to share.
George is survived by his wife, Kathryn, son, David Clifton (Jamie Thiel) Auerswald; two grandchildren, Alena Ellen Thiel and Jacob Brayden Auerswald; two nieces, Phyllis (James) Porter and Gina Rallo; and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lena Ruth Auerswald; father, George Clifton Auerswald; son, Nathan James Auerswald; and sister, Loverta Slaughter.
Visitation will be from 11 until 12 pm with a Memorial Service immediately following on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376.
