George Osterloh

George Osterloh, age 89, of Chesterfield, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 in Chesterfield, Missouri. He was born in New York, New York on March 12, 1935 to George and Frieda Osterloh (nee Muhlmeister). 

George graduated from Stuyvesant High School in NYC and attended college at Cooper Union and New York University. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers and went on to a successful lifelong career with Lever Brothers in NYC and Unilever in St. Louis. George was also an accomplished photographer, winning numerous accolades for regional photography. 

A gentle giant, George stood 6’ 6”. He was known for his warm smile, hearty laugh and kind words for all he met. He loved to talk with local shop owners and always shared a joke and a caramel.

George is survived by his wife, Heidi Osterloh; his daughters, Susan Osterloh, and Dr. Allison Nichols; his son-in-law Cliff Nichols; and two grandchildren, Alexandra Nichols, and Drew Nichols. He will be dearly missed by  family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Osterloh; mother, Frieda Osterloh; and son-in-law, John F. McClure III.

Services will be private.
