George Peter Rossi, age 90, of Saint Charles, Missouri passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023 in Chesterfield, Missouri. He was born in Somerville, Massachusetts on July 8, 1933 to Peter and Nella Rossi (nee Superchi).
George graduated from Boston's Cathedral High School in 1951, and proudly told all he met that he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Suffolk University in 1962 and an MBA from Lindenwood University in 1986.
He served in the Army artillery from 1955-57, an experience that deeply influenced the rest of his life; and spent his career working as a chemical engineer in the aerospace industry, specializing in paints for military aircraft.
George was an avid camper. He loved camping with his wife in their fifth-wheel RV. They were members of several camping clubs and traveled all over the United States. After retirement, they operated a small business, "The Wicked Stitch of the West." While Dorothy completed alterations or stitched patches on leather vests, George upholstered furniture, car or boat seating and made deliveries in his truck.
Also in retirement, George took up taekwondo, eventually earning his black belt.
George was a man of deep faith and spent countless hours volunteering for Sts. Joachim & Ann Care Service to ensure that hungry neighbors were fed. He held a license as a ham radio operator and volunteered this skill to the St. Charles County Emergency Management.
George is survived by his three daughters, Teresa Mary (Ray Oster) Oster of Gerald, MO, Margery Anne (Andrew Torres) Rossi of Peekskill, NY, Sandra Alice (Jeffrey Prince) Rossi-Prince of Saint Charles, MO; six grandchildren, Melissa Rose Layton, Dominic Prince, Josette Prince, Luke Torres-Rossi, Joseph Nesslage, Jonathan Torres-Rossi; and a host of other family members and friends.
