Gerald P. Isbell, affectionately known as "Jerry," was taken from us on January 13, 2025, at the age of 85, surrounded by his loved ones at his home in St. Peters, Missouri. Born on April 5, 1939, in Kennett, Missouri, Jerry lived a life full of joy and dedication to family and friends.
A cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years, Jackie Isbell, who stood by his side through all of life's adventures. Jerry's light continues to shine brightly in the hearts of his daughter, Debbie (Ben) Hernandez along with his treasured grandchildren, Dayne (Jennifer) Glass, and Danielle (Dane) Dvorak. His legacy is further carried on by his great-grandchildren, Jackson, Annabelle, Dani, and Duke, whose pictures filled his life with happiness.
Jerry's kindness extended beyond his immediate family to his brother, Curtis Isbell, his cousins, Charles Isbell, Diane (Bob) Cheetham, and Virgil Ellis, his Aunt Mary Belle Houghlan, and his nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart. Jerry is also survived by his son, Jeff (Donna) Patrick, his grandchildren, Tyler (Shawna) Patrick and Sara (Mike) Davis, and his great-grandchildren, Silas, Alice, Foster, and Georgie.
In addition to his beloved family, Jerry will be remembered fondly for his genuine love of life, friends, and his church community. He dedicated his time to serving honorably in the United States Army in Alaska, where he provided crucial support during the Earthquake, demonstrating not only his bravery but his unyielding commitment to those around him.
Jerry had many interests, including a passion for Southern Gospel Music that often filled his home with uplifting melodies. He was an avid reader, with John Grisham novels being among his favorites, providing a perfect escape that he enjoyed sharing with his family.
The memories created by Jerry will be cherished forever, particularly the memorable "Jerry-ville Tours" that he arranged whenever his daughter came to town, something that brought smiles and laughter to all.
He joins in eternal rest with his parents, Clyde W. Isbell and Virginia Charlton; his step-father, Jack Charlton; his sister, Linda Clevenger, and brother-in-law, Bill Clevenger. He is also reunited with his beloved in-laws, Irene Thomure and Glenn Thomure, as well as several cherished aunts and uncles who he held dear.
As family and friends gather to celebrate the life of Gerald P. Isbell, they will do so with heavy hearts yet grateful spirits, reflecting on a life well-lived, rich with love for his saving grace, Jesus Christ and cherished memories. Visitation for Jerry will be held on January 17, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM, both taking place at Restoration Church in St. Peters, Missouri.
