Geraldine "Geri" Pirrie-Toler, born on June 14, 1930, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, at the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. She was surrounded by her loving son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren at the time of her passing, a testament to her family's deep bond and the love she nurtured throughout her life.
Geri was a beloved figure, known for her dependability and dedication to family. Throughout the years, she was a constant presence in the lives of her granddaughters, attending every school event and cheering them on at all of their games. Her nurturing spirit was evident in every action; she was always there to help, embodying the essence of a loving grandmother whose pride and joy were her granddaughters and, later, her great-grandsons.
A graduate of Riverview High School, class of 1948, Geri was possibly the last surviving member of her graduating class. She lived a life rich in love and connections, driven by her caring nature. Her kindness knew no bounds, and she made friends with everyone she met. Geri was well regarded for her selflessness, always seeking ways to assist others, whether it was preparing meals or making a home feel welcoming. It is said that she never had an enemy, touching many lives with her genuine spirit.
In addition to nurturing her family, Geri enjoyed decorating and cultivating gardens filled with beautiful flowers and plants, reflecting her love for nature and beauty. Among her proudest accomplishments were her three granddaughters and with the addition of her great-grandsons, the continuation of her legacy. Geri was an avid non-sportsman, rarely knowing anything about the big game but delighted to be in the company of family and friends as they enjoyed sporting events.
Geri is survived by her son, James (Sandra) Pirrie; granddaughters, Kaila (Ben Hauschulz) Pirrie, Kelsey (Dylan) Snow, and Karissa (Justin Svetlik) Pirrie; great-grandsons, Bennett Snow and Jameson Svetlik, JJ Svetlik; as well as her brother, Elmer (Charlotte "Muff") Hoeferlin; brother, Harry James Hoeferlin; and sister-in-law, Madonna "Donna" Kuban.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth James Pirrie; her second husband, Ervin Toler; her father, Elmer Hoeferlin; her mother, Helen Hoeferlin; her brother, Raymond (wife Dorothy "Dot" survives) Hoeferlin; her brother, Robert Hoeferlin; and her sister, Dolores (the late Charles) Deitiker.
