Glenn M. Luedloff

July 24, 1952 — August 13, 2022

Glenn Michael Luedloff, 70 years old, of St. Charles, MO, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022 at his home. Glenn is survived by his wife, MaryBeth (Klopstein-Wheeler) of 30 years; his children Leslie Luedloff of St. Charles, MO, Crissy (Jeff) Harris of Gravois Mills, MO, Jeremy (Amy) Luedloff of St. Charles, MO, Yvonne (Justin) Pollock of St. Charles, MO, Chris (Tyler Meyer) Wheeler of St. Charles, MO, and Nick (Meghan Gallagher) Wheeler of St. Charles, MO; 13 grand-children, 4 great-grand-children, and his brother, Dennis Luedloff of New Florence, MO. Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Renee Luedloff of St. Charles, MO, his parents, Alan and Lavern Luedloff of St. Louis, MO, and step-father, Russell L. Pointdexter of St. Charles, MO. He was a nephew, cousin, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many.

Glenn was born in St. Louis, MO, July 24, 1952, to Alan and Lavern (Eschenbrenner) Luedloff of St. Louis, MO. He graduated from South County Tech High School in 1970.

Beginning early in his life, Glenn honed the skill of fabricating aluminum and sheet metal while working for his parent's business, C & Q Awning. He furthered his talents working at Emerson Electric, McDonnell Douglas, Mid Coast Aviation, and Boeing where he retired in 2015. His primary classification was Mock Up & Tooling. Glenn worked on a variety of projects including models for The Prologue Room and top secret projects. He was very proud to have the opportunity to work for two of the top defense companies in the USA, and to hold a top Security Clearance.

Glenn was described as a mechanic with an engineering mind. His favorite place was his garage. His fascination of cars, and the ability to build one from the ground up, kept him very busy. His love for MOPAR was tops, but he also had a fondness for Pontiacs. There are very few mechanical things that Glenn couldn't repair. He was also an avid model train collector. He began with Marx as a kid, advanced to HO scale, and finally graduated to Lionel O-Gauge His prized locomotive was his Hudson. His carpentry skills can be seen throughout his home as well. Be it they bay windows, wall removals or installs, the incredible addition to his garage, the construction of the deck or the installation of his in-ground pool, HE DID IT. He was often too proud to ask for advice. He did, however, often say out loud, "What would Dad do?". Somehow the answer would be realized and the dilemma resolved.

In 2012, Glenn received a second chance at life when he received a double lung transplant at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. This selfless gift from his Donor and Donor's family offered Glenn many more years of life which he lived to it's absolute fullest.

Glenn's greatest pride, rested on the shoulders of his kids and grand-kids. He enjoyed their company whether it be out'n about having dinner, drinks and a movie, working on the project the day of just sitting around shooting the breeze. He liked "helping" them with their projects as well as them helping with his. His love for them was without measure!

Glenn was a complex and complicated man who was loved by many.

We will carry your memory in our hearts always and forever.
