Glyn C. Bowen

Glyn C. Bowen, age 90, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023 in Saint Peters, Missouri. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 9, 1933 to Trevor and Julia Bowen (nee Ivanich). As both his parents were immigrants, Glyn was proud to be a first generation American.

Glyn worked for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft for 30 years as an electrical engineer and lived in several overseas countries with his wife & daughters while in their employ. Drafted into the Army during the Korean conflict, he was so proud to serve his country. In the years to follow, he invested some time into recreating his uniform, equipment, and service weapon that were issued to him during his time of service. Glyn was an avid military history buff, he could tell you about anything involving the military.

Glyn was a gifted airplane and ship modeler. He and Nancy loved scuba diving, boating and water skiing (which he pursued up until the age of 86!)

Glyn is survived by his Wife, Nancy Bowen; Two Daughters, Karen A. Gibbs, Janice (Jim) Abegg; Six grandchildren, Mackenzie (Joe) Wilmes, Ryan Gibbs, Paul (Audrey) Abegg, Jason (Kelsey) Gibbs, Dan (Alex) Abegg, Julia (Brock) Melton; 17 Great-Grandchildren; Aunt Dolores Posh; Cousins, Florence Celia and Elizabeth and a host of other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Trevor Bowen; Mother, Julia Bowen; and Son-In-law, Ron Gibbs.

Visitation will be from 9:30 am until 11:30 am on September 22, 2023, at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. Inurnment to take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
