Harvey Lee Marchbanks of Saint Charles, MO went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday
December 14, 2017, at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Helen Marchbanks (nee Fielder);
Cherished son of the late James Freddie Marchbanks and Nillie Marchbanks (nee Low); Devoted
father of Linda (Steve) Polkinghorne and Rob (Rachel Brakensiek) Marchbanks; loving
grandfather of Elizabeth (Jean Paul) Soto, Christina Uetrecht, Tiffany (Scott) Marquart, Amanda
(Dustin) Rothrock, and Fred Polkinghorne; loving great-grandfather of Cameron Bradshaw,
Kayla Bradshaw, Karlie (Steven) Grant, Gabrielle Soto, Heidi Soto, Ashlyn Rothrock, Ava
Rothrock, Amelia Rothrock, and Eliana Marquart; loving great-great grandfather of Genevieve
Buckman; special grandfather of Kelsey Brakensiek; papa to many other precious children he
loved. Beloved brother of Everett Marchbanks. Preceded in death by his parents; son Harvey Jr.;
son Larry; grandson Steven Polkinghorne; brothers James, Curtis, and Charles; sisters Louise,
Helen, Maxine, and Margie.
Harvey was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of St. Peters MO. He was a former
member of the Orchard Farm Baptist Church and Ridgecrest Baptist Church, St. Charles MO; and Water Tower Baptist Church, St. Louis MO. He was an ordained deacon for many years and had served as Sunday School Director and Sunday School teacher. He loved the Lord with all his heart and was always eager to serve Him.
Harvey was retired from McDonnell-Douglas after 30 years of service. He was recently presented with his 60 year service award from Local 837 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He loved his job and was proud of being a teammate in building the F-4 Phantom and the F-15 Eagle.Harvey was a past Cub Master with Pack 964 of the Boy Scouts of America.
Harvey was born on May 20th, 1932, in Senath MO. His mother passed away when he was 7 years old. His father raised him and his 8 brothers and sisters on a cotton farm in southeast Missouri. Hard times and a large family required that he begin working full-time upon completing the 8th grade. He spent his entire life working hard and providing for his family. He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren dearly. His family was everything to him. He cherished his friends, especially his brothers and sisters in Christ. He will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him.
Services: Visitation Monday 4:00-8:00 pm at Newcomers Funeral Home, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Dr, St. Peters MO. Funeral services Tuesday 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of St. Peters, 3533 Mid Rivers Mall Dr, St. Peters MO. Interment will be at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, St. Ann MO immediately following the services.
