Helen Isom

Helen Marie Isom, age 83, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 in Saint Peters, Missouri. She was born in Pocahantas, Arkansas on October 11, 1939 to Louis and Lena Finney (nee Robinett). 

 Helen had a calling to care for and help people which lead to a 40 year career. Graduating in 1960 she started as a nurse at Little Rock Baptist Hospital. She then when on to work at a VA Hospital in North Little rock, Arkansas. 

 In January 1961 she married the love of her life Charles Edward Isom. The union bore to children Matthew Edward Isom, and Charles Edward Isom Jr. 

 In 2000 Helen retired from SSM St. Charles to care for her grandsons Charles and Daniel Isom. She became a Great Grandmother in 2004 to her only granddaughter, Kylie and her great grandsons in 2005, 2007, 2008, 2010, and finally to the youngest in 2017. 

 Helen Isom was the true matriarch of the Isom family, caring for 3 generations of Isom’s in her home. Helen was the most proud grandmother and great grandmother and was a fierce protector of her family. 

Helen is survived by her Husband, Charles Isom; Son, Chuck Isom, Jr.; Four grandchildren, Charles W. (Ashley) Isom, Daniel T. (Ashley) Isom, Brandon L. Isom; Scott M. Becker; Five great-grandchildren, Elijah T. Isom, Kylie R. Squires, Jackson C. Squires, Ryder S. Squires, Brody L. Squires; and a host of other family members and friends. 

 She was preceded in death by her Father, Louis P. Finney; Mother, Lena Vestal Finney; Great-Grandchild, Caiden C. Blair; Son, Matthew Isom; 5 Brothers; and 4 Sisters. 

Mass will be 10:30 Monday, September 9, 2024 at Sts Joachim and Ann Catholic Church, 4112 McClay Rd, St Charles, MO 63304. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at Sts Joachim and Ann Catholic Church. Interment to follow Mass at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
