Helen Camille (Penny) Bowen made her passage to eternal life in early morning hours of August 26, 2024. She passed away peacefully and is now smiling and watching over a long list of future generations, leaving a wonderful legacy.
Penny was born on October 20,1939 to Louis Donald O'brien and Helena Camille Landes. She married at a young age and welcomed six sons. She has lived in South St. Louis, St. Ann, Bridgeton, St. Charles, Warrenton, and the Lake of the Ozarks. She worked as a professional secretary and personal assistant at the St. Charles YMCA, Boonslick Regional, Ralston Purina, the Elks and retired from her brother’s Chesterfield business, O’Brien and Associates.
She was an avid sports fan, enjoying all types of sports - the St. Louis Cardinals, the St. Louis Rams, and all MIZZOU and high school sports, especially when her children or grandchildren were participating. She was their biggest fan, always in the stands, often traveling to watch and share her love of sports with her family. She supported ABC (Athletic Boys Club) and was inducted into their Hall of Fame.
She enjoyed a long, beautiful, fruitful life. She raised her brood of six boys with love and strength. She lived life to the fullest and loved, supported and encouraged her sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, teaching them a healthy and competitive spirit.
