Henry John Joseph Kroeger (Hank), age 87, entered eternal life on Sunday, March 17, 2024. Hank was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 4, 1936 to Helen Kröger (Thoben) and Johann Kröger, both German immigrants.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Weldon Springs. Visitation will start at 10:00am, with a memorial service at 11:30am. A luncheon will be held following the service. Interment will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery the following morning, Friday, March 29, 2024 at 9:30am. A procession will depart from Newcomer Funeral Home St. Peters Chapel at 8:30am that morning.
Hank moved from Brooklyn, New York to Cleveland, Ohio at age 6. He graduated from the Ohio State University and enlisted in the U.S. Airforce. He attained the rank of Captain and performed special missions specializing in radar and surveillance.
Upon leaving the Air Force he pursued an exciting and successful career in technology. He founded and owned Technical Representatives, Inc. (TRI) with offices in St. Louis, Missouri; Kansas City, Missouri; Wichita, Kansas; Des Moines, Iowa; and Lincoln, Nebraska. TRI helped technology "start-up" companies position and bring their products to market. Some of their most well-known clients were Apple Computers and Intel. Hank was personally responsible for meeting with and convincing Steve Jobs (Apple) that Apple required the services of a "technical" manufacturer representative versus a "consumer products" representative to create, train, and support a Dealer Network. He worked with Fortune 500 companies to integrate his clients' products and create innovative industry solutions.
Hank was also the Founder and President of NAMRA (North American Manufacturers Representative Association).
In later years, Hank did business consulting and mentoring. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them (attending many soccer, baseball/softball, and basketball games). He also enjoyed traveling with his wife, Loire.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents, Helen Kröger (nee Thoben) and Johann Kröger.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Loire Kroeger (nee Strouse); his brother, John Kroeger (Cathy); six daughters, Cheryl Bloink (Bill), Suzanne Larkin (Lindsey), Jennifer Kroeger, Angela Meyers (Kevin), Melissa Brock, and Alyse Brock-Hernandez (Polo); ten grandchildren, Gus Bloink (Molly), Abby Caushi (Jozef), Max Bloink, Capt. Johnathan Larkin (Destiny), Kelly Larkin, Capt. Shawn Larkin, Jason Gardner, Madison Gardner, Gwendolyn McGuire, and Gabriela Hernandez; five great-grandchildren, Madden, Will, Jack, Rowen, and Nora.
Hank will be dearly missed by many, but we know he will "soar on wings like eagles" (Isaiah 40:31) until we see him in Heaven.
Children's causes were always close to Hank's heart. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to St. Jude's Chidlren's Hospital, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
