Irene Lorraine Lane

Irene Lorraine Lane, age 95, of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022 in O'Fallon, Missouri. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 2, 1927 to Frank and Isabel Pappert (nee Aubuchon).

Irene is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Steven) Koester; granddaughters, Susan (Paul Bratcher) Ragan and Laura (Matthew) Jost; grandsons, Michael Knapp, Scott (Taya) Knapp, and Christopher Koester; great-granddaughters, Katie (Brock) Dekok, Madeline Knapp, Ella Knapp, Emily Knapp, and Tessa Jost; great-grandsons, Michael (Chasity) Ragan, Mitchell (Hannah Hamrick) Knapp, Henry Knapp, James Knapp, Julian Koester, and Lincoln Koester; great-great-granddaughters, Ragan Dekok, Mackenzie Ragan, and Rylie Ragan; great-great-grandsons, Brody Dekok, Tucker Ragan, Parker Ragan, and Miles Knapp; and bonus granddaughter, Brynn Bratcher. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rovie Lane; parents, Frank and Isabel Pappert; and brothers, Richard (Jane) Pappert and Larry (Ruth) Pappert.


Irene was a much beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed caring for the birds in her yard, and when she wasn't busy dusting and running her sweeper, she loved spending time with her beloved dog, Cuddles. She was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
