Jack Peters, born on May 8, 1937, in Evanston, Illinois, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025. He lived a full and vibrant life, deeply devoted to his family.
A graduate of Roosevelt High School, Jack went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from St. Louis University while balancing night classes with full-time work. His dedication to education was a testament to his commitment to personal growth and betterment.
Jack’s love for nature and adventure defined much of his life. He found joy in boating and fishing—activities that reflected his deep appreciation for the outdoors. He also took great pride in working on his home, transforming it into a sanctuary filled with cherished memories and laughter. But above all, Jack’s greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren, creating moments he treasured deeply.
Jack served his country with honor, discharged as a Private First Class from the United States Army after serving in the Korean War. His military service instilled in him values of duty and commitment, which he carried with him throughout his life.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Joan Kathryn Peters, and their three sons: Craig Robert Peters and his wife Jennifer, Steven Lee Peters and his wife Jennifer, and Gary Alan Peters. He was also a proud grandfather to Andrew Robert Peters, Rachel Anne Peters, Jacob Matthew Peters, Jacob Steven Peters, Tyler Alan Peters, and Mary Louise Peters, all of whom brought immeasurable joy to his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thelma and Robert Peters, and his siblings Jerome Peters, Sue Windsor, and Richard Peters, who remained in his memory.
Visitation will be held on February 8, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 5:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, West County, located at 2211 Clarkson Rd, Chesterfield, Missouri, 63005. All are welcome to join in celebrating the remarkable life of Jack Peters and the lasting impact he made on the lives of those who knew him.
