Jack Sparks died June 1st at the age of 94.
Jack was born January 3, 1926 to Paul T and Frances Ruth (Gaines) Sparks in Shelbina, MO. He served in the Army Air Force. Jack worked for the Burlington Railroad as a signal maintainer his entire career.
He married Agnes Burkemper on November 5, 1951. They had three children together and also were foster parents.
Jack was active in the Boy Scouts as a Scout Master and in the Orchard Farm Little League Baseball.
Jack's survivors include his sons, Michael (Jean) Sparks and Robert (Karen) Sparks and his daughter Susan (Jim) Starks. He also leaves 4 grandchildren Ryan (Jessica) Sparks, Jennifer (Brad) Taylor, Amber (Eric) Darais and Maddi Sparks all of this area. Jack was great grandpa to Logan and Paxton Taylor, Ezra Darais and Roscoe Sparks.
Jack is preceded in death by his wife Agnes, his parents and his siblings Jeanne Hughes, Shirley Sparks, Peggy Charbonneau, and Paul Sparks. His first grandson Joseph Sparks also preceded him.
The family will receive friends on Saturday June 6, 2020 from 10 am until 12 pm at St. Louis Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376.
A public service and private interment will follow. Due to current circumstances and per the family's request, visiting guests are asked to wear face masks and continue the practice of social distances.
