Jack Vogel, born on July 31, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on October 17, 202, in Winfield, Missouri. A beloved member of his community, Jack dedicated his professional life as a machinist at McDonnell Douglas from 1980 until his retirement in 1999, contributing his skills to the aerospace industry.
Jack was deeply involved in various organizations that reflected his commitment to service and camaraderie. He served as a National Committeeman for the Sons of AmVets and held the role of Sons Commander for the Department of Missouri. His dedication extended to his membership with the Elks Lodge and the Moose, where he fostered friendships and community spirit. Furthermore, he played a pivotal role in establishing Camp Hope, demonstrating his passion for helping others and enhancing the lives of those around him.
He leaves behind a loving family that includes his daughter, Melinda (John) Maddock, and his sons, William (Shelley) Vogel and Wayne (Jessica) Steele. Jack was also a proud grandfather to Nicholas Vogel, Anthony Vogel, Meagan Tomlinson, Sydney Thornhill, James Maddock, Charlotte Maddock, Dylan Steele, Caiden Steele, and Kylee Steele; and a great-grandfather to Jacob Tomlinson. His legacy will continue through these cherished family members and the countless lives he touched.
Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Candy Vogel; parents, William and Verna Vogel, as well as his beloved grandparents, Verna Wampole and Edward Wampole. He is also survived by his brothers, William "Bill" Vogel and Roy Vogel.
Visitation for Jack Vogel will take place on October 23, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in St. Peters, Missouri.
Jack's impact on the community and his family will be remembered fondly, and he will be missed dearly by all who knew him. His unwavering spirit and dedication to service exemplified a life well-lived.
