Jackie Vogt

April 28, 1943 — November 14, 2024

Jackie Vogt, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on November 14, 2024, at the age of 81.  Born on April 28, 1943, to David and Elsie Davis. Jackie grew up in Portage Des Sioux where she was the oldest of five sisters. Jackie attended grade school in Portage Des Sioux where she met her husband Robert in the 1st grade. Jackie and Robert grew up together, later marrying at the age of 19, on July 28th 1962. They were married for 62 years, later on having two children (Craig and Sherry) and three grandchildren (Madison, Karlie, and Clayton).

Jackie had an infectious spirit that drew people to her. Jackie was known for her quick whit and sense of humor.  She enjoyed attending quilt socials and playing bingo with friends and family. Her love for baking brought joy to many, as she often delighted her family and friends with her sweet creations. A true social butterfly, Jackie enjoyed gathering with the ladies for lunch, and attending her monthly card club meetings where stories flowed as freely as the laughter.

Jackie was a fighter, a three time breast cancer survivor, battling some kind of illness on and off for the last 49 years of her life. Through these battles she taught the people around her about strength, kindness, perseverance, and the ability to not give up.

Jackie was a devoted grandmother who never missed an opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren whether it be their sporting events, taking them to Dairy Queen after school, lunch dates, or anything the grandchildren wanted to do, she always was there. Her grandchildren were the apples of her eye, and she relished every moment spent with them, creating a bond that will forever be cherished.

Jackie is survived by her loving husband, Robert Vogt, who devoutly stood by her side throughout their journey of life together. She is also survived by her son, Craig (Aleece) Vogt, and daughter, Sherry (Johnny Bell) Dennis, grandchildren Karlie (Lucas) Weinrich, and Clayton (Abby) Vogt who carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion. Jackie also leaves behind her two sisters, Eileen (Fred) Heyer and Mary Kay (Ed) Berhorst, who shared countless memories and the steadfast support of sisterhood.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Davis; her mother, Elsie Borgschulte; her grandchild, Madison Vogt; and her two sisters, Joyce Brandt and JoAnn Gust. The loss of these beloved family members shaped Jackie’s life, yet she honored their memories by living each day to its fullest.

Jackie's legacy is one of love, joy, and a commitment to family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to share in her life—a testament to a beautiful soul whose laughter and kindness will be profoundly missed.
