Jackson Shade

March 2, 2005 — March 18, 2022

Jackson Thomas Shade, age 17, of O Fallon, Missouri passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022. He was born in Lake St. Louis, Missouri on March 2, 2005 to Joshua Shade and Christina Bogusky.

Jackson is survived by his Mother, Christina Bogusky and Step-father, Neil Kelly of O Fallon, MO; Father, Joshua Shade and Step-mother, Monica Shade of Wentzville, MO; Sister, Lyla Shade; Sister, Malia Shade; Brother, Aidan Kelly; Brother, Brendan Kelly; Grandfather, Thomas Bogusky; Grandmother, Linda Bogusky; Grandmother, Sandy Shade; many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins; along with a host of other family and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his Grandfather, Jim Shade.

Jackson was an incredible person and had an impact on everyone's lives whose paths he crossed from the day he was born. His loving heart, fun energy and curiosity for everything life had to offer was endearing and quickly realized by anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.

Jackson immersed himself in nature from an early age. Since he could walk Jax was more comfortable outdoors than in, no matter the time of year.

His love for the outdoors started at his grandparent's farm exploring with his cousin Scout and MawMaw. As he got older he enjoyed hiking, camping, float tripping, and fishing anywhere and everywhere he could. Fishing was his favorite as he cherished the fact that his Dad and PawPaw Tom enjoyed it as well. Bennett Springs was where Jax could be found having the time of his life reeling in huge trout with his Dad or PawPaw. Jax always caught the biggest fish, bigger than anyone else's, so he always said.

When Jax had to be inside, he could be found at home playing guitar, playing with his dog Sox, or teasing and being teased by his sisters, Lyla and Malia. They truly looked up to their big brother and loved every minute with him. Jax treasured his time spent with his sisters as well. Jax also adored his brothers, Aidan and Brendan. They made many great memories together through family vacations, sport events, and the time spent at home playing video games and scaring each other with the Ouji board. Family meant a lot to Jax, just like his friends meant a lot to him too.

To the dismay of some of his teachers, Jax made friends no matter where he was or who he was sat next to. This theme of building and maintaining friendships stayed with Jax throughout his life.

He met many friends through his passion for sports; whether it was his many years spent on the football field, or his years on the baseball diamond, the basketball court, or when he was out skateboarding, Jax aka "J Shade" was sure to be spotted out with friends laughing and having a good time. The past couple years Jackson also enjoyed focusing on weightlifting with friends at the gym.

One of Jackson's greatest joys in life was to make people laugh. He was known for his quick wit that was right on time. Jax was quite the entertainer. Who else do you know that could solve the Rubik's cube behind their back without looking at 9 years old? Or make a playing card disappear right before your eyes? All while having hair flyer than Biebers'. That's Jax, he was the man.

Though there are no words that can describe the immense impact that Jackson has had on all our lives, his presence is ingrained in every memory that we have had with him. With each passing day, may we remember his smile, his absolutely perfect one of a kind laugh and his passion to fully live life for each moment, with the utmost amount of love and compassion.
