James P (Jim) Cittadino of Chesterfield, MO passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, November 8, 2021, at the age of 88.
Jim was born in Independence, LA on January 19, 1933, to Samuel and Gladys (nee Rushing) Cittadino. He enlisted in the Army in 1951, served as a Paratrooper in Korea, receiving two Bronze Stars and the Combat Infantry Badge, and was a proud member of the 82nd Airborne. When he left the military, Jim returned to St. Louis and married Mary Quinlan in 1955. They had two daughters, Mary and Margaret. Jim worked as an insurance broker in downtown St. Louis, attended Washington University, started his own insurance agency, C & G Midwest, which grew to be one of the larger agencies in the area, and became a Vice President at the Charles L Crane Agency.
Jim is survived by his wife of 66 years Mary Alice (nee Quinlan); children Mary (Allan) Cittadino-Link and Margaret (Real J.) Blais; grandchildren James (McKenzi) Link, Matthew (Adrionia Molder) Link, Andrew (Margaret) Link, and Courtney (Thomas Cullom) Link.
A visitation for James is planned for Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 4pm to 8 pm. The visitation will be at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 2211 Clarkson Road, Chesterfield, MO. The funeral mass will be Friday, November 19, 2021 at 10:00 am at Ascension Catholic Church, 230 Santa Maria Drive in Chesterfield followed by burial at Jefferson Barracks. Funeral arrangements by Buchholz.
The family is requesting that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the charity of choice.
