James was a Christian.
James Norvil Condray Sr., age 88, of O Fallon, Missouri passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023 in Maryland Heights, Missouri. He was born in Ellsinore, Missouri on November 28, 1934 to Clarence and Goldy Condray (nee Link). He was married to Evelyn Condray for 57 years.
James retired from General Motors after 34 years. After retiring, he volunteered for the O'Fallon Auxillary Police Force before retiring after 20 years. He then worked for Fort Zumwalt School and retired after 10 years. He was a boyscout leader from 1988 until the present. He was awarded the Silver Beaver Award and the Second Highest Life Saving Award through the Boy Scouts. He enjoyed hiking, fishing, hunting, backpacking, riding four-wheelers, and enjoyed his dog, Shiloh Scout. He was a great role-model for the boy scouts he encountered. James enjoyed traveling with his wife and his church group. He was proud of his children and grandchildren and loved to spend time with all of his family.
James is survived by his Wife, Evelyn Condray; Three Sons, James Norvil (Kathy) Condray Jr., William Neil (Debbie) Condray, Stephen James Condray; Daughter, Janet Rae (Kevin) Wiltshire; Son-In-law, Jerry Manis; Thirteen grandchildren, Josh Condray, Renee Bosworth, Ariel Condray-Lay, Hannah Condray, Kyle Wiltshire, Cody Wiltshire, Angela Canclini, Trey Hinton, Dylan Condray, Rachel Shipley, Jessica Gleason, Melissa Henry, Michael Manis; Sister, Geraldine Sohn; Sister, Irma Warriner; Many Great-Grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Clarence Chester Condray; Mother, Goldy Lillian Condray; Daughter, Janel K., Daughter, Nola Fay Manis; Grandchild, Noah Condray; and Brother, Harold Lee Condray.
A short visitation will be held at First Baptist Church in Wentzville, MO on Monday, July 31, 2023 from 10:00am until 11:00am with a funeral ceremony taking place at 11:00am. The following day, August 1, 2023, a short visitation will be held at Ellsinore Full Gospel Church in Ellsinore, MO from 11:00am until 12:00pm with a funeral ceremony taking place at 12:00pm. Interment will immediately follow at Robertson Cemetery in Ellsinore, MO.
