James (Jim) Edward Dwyer, age 82, of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2020. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 21, 1937 to Eugene and Lillian Dwyer (nee Jackson).
Jim enjoyed fishing, golfing, and playing cards. He took history classes, played the harmonica, and loved to make others laugh. He was a life-long Cardinals fan, enjoyed coaching his sons, and was a fan of the shooting sports. But, his greatest love was spending time with his family! He enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports and participate in other activities. He was the World's Best Grandpa!
He was a proud Army veteran and was often heard telling stories of his time in Korea or seen reading books about American wars. He had his own American Family insurance agency in Florissant for 30 years where he served his community and made many friends.
Jim is survived by his wife, Sue Dwyer of Lake Saint Louis, MO; his sons, Steve Dwyer, and Mike (Jean) Dwyer; granddaughters, Amanda and Hannah Dwyer; grandsons, David McFeely, Joey and Daniel Dwyer; and a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Lillian Dwyer; and a sister, Kathleen Dwyer.
There will be a limited visitation 10:00 am - 12:00 pm on Friday, April 17 at Newcomer Funeral Home 837 Mid Rivers Mall Dr., St. Peters, with a private family-only service at 12:00pm. Interment will be Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. A memorial service and a Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
