Jan Allison Ward Mayberry

November 4, 1951 — August 7, 2020

Jan Allison Ward Mayberry, 68 years old of St. Charles, Missouri passed away peacefully on Friday, August 7, 2020 at 5:43 pm with Robert, her loving husband of 30 years by her side. Jan was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on November 4, 1951 to Teva Belle and James Ward, both deceased. She was the most amazing mother to her four children, Christopher (deceased), Janelle (Paul), Margaret (deceased) and Erin (Brian). In 1990 she became a grandmother for the first time and quickly embraced her new role of Mimi. Her 12 grandchildren Ryan, Chelsea, Dylan, Breanna, Chloe, Lily, Josh, Dominic, Allison, Jack, Ben and Kyle and her 1 great grandchild Adelaide gave her great joy and she relished spending quality time with them all. Jan was also a devoted rescue puppy momma to Ginger, who adored her. She is also survived by numerous family & friends, which are far too great to count.

Jan was an extremely devoted wife, mother, and MiMi. Nothing made her happier than to spend quality time with her family during the holidays, over a meal, or just hanging out together. She was known for her strength as she was married to a military man who often had to be away from home for extended periods of time leaving Jan in charge of the home, children and grandchildren. Gardening was her passion and she spent countless hours nurturing her plants, gardens and ponds. She especially enjoyed watching hummingbirds and butterflies who visited her gorgeous gardens and loved feeding a variety of wild birds at her feeders. Jan always listened, wanted to help, give advice, or a warm hug and smile. She never met a stranger and would quickly get to know everyone with her inquisitive nature and caring spirit.

BJ & Jan loved "going home" to NoLa to visit family and enjoyed PoBoys, Petit Fours and Daiquiris as well as celebrating at Carnival Time attending parades, dressing silly and yelling "Throw me something mister". Jan loved the New Orleans Saints and was ecstatic when they won the Super Bowl. She referred to Barefoot Beach, Florida as her happy place and is where she spent quiet time with her husband enjoying the sunsets, sand & seashells that brought her peace & serenity. Her grandkids fondly remember her hobby of taking pictures of snowflakes and hummingbirds.

Prior to retirement, Jan's love of numbers and people led her into a 20 plus year tenure with H&R Block, most of which she spent as a District Manager in both the Greater Chicago and St Louis areas. She has numerous friends shes had for decades she met while excelling in her career and she fondly spoke of them often.

Jan will be missed terribly by all who knew and loved her. A Celebration of her life will be held for friends and family at a later date.
