Jane Barton, age 80, of St. Charles, MO passed away peacefully at St. Joseph Hospital on Tuesday, May 24, 2023 at 9:27 p.m. Jane was born December 26, 1942 in Leadwood, MO to her late parents William & Geneva Rice.
Jane was a native of Leadwood, MO and graduated from Leadwood High School in 1960. She resided in St. Louis County since the early 1960's, most recently St. Charles, MO. Jane was employed by Central Hardware, Stone Container, later Gaylord Container, and then retired from Ameren Union Electric Company in 2008. During her retirement, she volunteered at Harvester Christian Church food pantry. She was devoted mother who enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends. Jane enjoyed reading and travel that included Australia, Ireland, England, Niagara Falls, and a western United States tour. She was a loving and caring mother, sister, and grandmother who will be deeply missed.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Alan (Lynn Mullen) Barton of Wentzille, MO and Beth (Brian) Phillips of Sulphur, LA; her grandchildren Brian (Katie) Barton, Kara (Aaron) Tate, Leigh (Sam) Rustom, Brianne Phillips, Joshua Vincent, and Tyler Vincent; her sister Janet (Dennis) Doss of Waynesville, MO; and great nieces Melinda Sudbrink (fiancé Jayson Patterson) and Meagan Shipp; great nephew Oaklyn Patterson. Jane is proceeded in death by her parents and niece, Lisa Shipp.
A Memorial service will be celebrated at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peter's, MO with Pastor Ken Hasekamp officiating. Visitation will be open to friends and family from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Inurnment will follow at a later date in Our Lady Mausoleum, Lake St. Louis, MO.
