It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janet Alred on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at the age of 75. Janet was born on October 7, 1948, in Carbondale, Illinois, to the late Willard and Irene Walker (née Kelley).
Janet was an extraordinary mother and a devoted grandmother to her five beloved grandchildren. She was a talented interior designer who dedicated much of her career to Ethan Allen, where she excelled in transforming spaces into beautiful sanctuaries. Her artistic flair extended beyond her professional life, as she loved sketching personalized cards for her children and grandchildren. Janet's children were her foundation, providing her with strength and joy, and her five grandchildren were the heart and soul of her life.
Janet was married to her husband, Doug Alred, for 53 years. In her retirement, Janet found new passions in sports and reality TV, and she cherished her visits to Houston, where she spent precious time with her daughter and three grandsons.
Janet is survived by her husband, Douglas Alred; her son, Scott Alred, and his wife Shelli; her daughter, Kelley Force, and her husband Kevin; her cherished grandchildren, Lydia Alred, Mitchell Alred, Max Force, Mick Force, and Finn Force. She also leaves behind her nephew, Jason Carnaghi, and his wife Amy; her sister-in-law, Jama Gabbert; and her niece, Maria Boehne.
She was preceded in death by her father, Willard W. Walker; her mother, Irene Kelley Walker; and her sister, Judy Carnaghi, and her husband John.
A celebration of Janet’s life will be held at the PFEM Banquet Hall located at 115 McMenamy Rd, St. Peters, MO 63376, on Thursday, June 27th, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Dinner will be served.
