Mrs. Janet Arlene Davis Keely was born November 28, 1954 in St. Louis MO. She was the only child of Ruby and Russell Davis. Both of her parents were the only children. Janet was a dedicated wife, mother and friend. Janet confessed her hope in Christ at an early age and was educated in the Catholic School System. She later became a member of Greater Mt. Vernon M.B.C.
Nursing was her true calling. She graduated from Jewish School of Nursing at the top of her nursing class in 1976. She was a Registered Nurse for 41 years, 2 years with the Veterans Administration and 39 with BJC Christian NE Hospital in the ICU.
Janet and Rodney united in holy matrimony in 1989. Through this union they brought into the world two daughters Jasmine & Kelly. Janet was a spicy and excitingly sassy lady standing only 4 feet 11 inches. She loved humor, animals, a good movie and was a great cook. Her most beloved music genre was jazz and the saxophone was her instrument of choice for obvious reasons.
Janet leaves to cherish her memories her husband and soulmate Rodney Keely, two daughters, Jasmine Lockhart (Jared Lockhart), Kelly Black (Durell Black), five grandchildren Abree, Alexandria, Taj, Austin, Ivan, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
