Janet Susan (nee Hoefli), Spinaio fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the age of 83. Beloved wife of 64 years to Edward A. Spinaio; dear daughter of the late Henry and Nellie (nee Crady) Hoefli; loving mother of Mark Spinaio and wife Bernice, Victoria Porcelli and husband Joseph, Christina Hoffman and husband Paul, Edward Spinaio and wife Tracy; dear grandmother of Joshua Spinaio, Amanda and Ethan Zachman, Paul and Morgan Hoffman Jr, Angela, Alyssa, and Ashley Porcelli, Anthony and Thomas Spinaio, Joseph, Vincent, and Dominic Spinaio; dear great grandmother of Piper Spinaio, Weston and Camden Zachman; cherished sister of the late Harry and Betty Hoefli; sister in law of Rosalyn and Casey Hoehn, and the late Blanche and Al Stratmann; aunt, great aunt, great great aunt, cousin and friend to many.
As a young mother, Janet always loved her precious time with family and was known for big family meals with her fantastic meatballs and bottomless pot of pasta. Janet had two green thumbs and could seemingly make a plant grow out of pure sand. Her love of animals was shadowed by no one. Janet was active for many years in St. Norbert's Parish Choir. Janet chose a career outside the home as a longtime nurse that cared for many. She also enjoyed St. Louis Muny events and reading.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am with a Memorial Service at 11:00 am, at Newcomer, St. Peters Chapel, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376 (636-875-1200). A private funeral ceremony will be held with burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
